IN THE PAPERS – Friday, September 18: We look at two different polemics in France over the way girls are dressed. In the first, secondary and high school students criticize rules in some schools that prohibit them from wearing crop tops, blouses with low necklines or shorts deemed inappropriate. In the second, several French lawmakers storm out of a parliamentary meeting because a young woman in the audience was wearing a hijab. We also take a look at new revelations about the Chinese crackdown on Uighur Muslims, and we finish with an exploration of “diamond planets.”
